I love the placement of the hook keeper. I have a horrible tendency of holding my rod just above the grip and it seems that thing is always stuck in one of my fingers.

just moved to Memphis TN this year so I know I will be fighting humidity all summer but I did not think it would be an issue currently. after all is said and done it does look like the tip will need to be rebuilt. I picked it up this morning and it was straight as an arrow. so it will hold a bend but the recovery time is just not there. So I will finish it out and make him a tip when I can get to it. Was going to be such a nice rod too. I flamed half the strips and left half blonde to give it a nice two toned color. got cork with a dark stripe down the center to keep the two toned striped theme. Guess its a good think I ordered a full set of ferrules even though I only planned on making a one tip rod.
