Its a little late to ask now, but I picked up a 4pc 8wt SLI from the bargain bin at my local cabelas the other day for $71 marked down from $135. Was wondering if anyone has had experience with these rods, and what you're thoughts are. They have been discontinued and I'm having trouble finding much info on them.

I have built a couple of the 9 foot 5 wgts but no experience with the 8. The rods were extremely smooth casters with a sensitive tip. Everyone who has cast the rod really likes it. I think you will be very happy, it was their top of the line rod for a few years. Hope that is helpful.

I had a 8.5' 5wt. It was a great rod. Very easy to fish.
