What is the best RPM motor to use for a finishing and drying motor? I'd like to finish the rod and just leave it chucked until it dries. Is that possible?

I use 9rpm pac bay rod dryers and let em spin till they are dry. Always worked fine for me and always get a smooth even coat. I am also using pac bay epoxy for the finish. Good luck!

I like the 9 also. I have a 4 that dries great but is too slow for application. A 20 would probably be fine, I have a 34 that is too fast IMO for application. Some peaple can apply epoxy at a much higher speed but it gives me problems. Hope that helps.

OK, then. Thanks. SO if I get a 10 to 15 RPM I'll be fine applying and drying.

When applying finish to the rod, I slip the belt off the pulley on my Rod Smith and turn it by hand to put on the epoxy, then stick the belt on the drying motor and let it turn.
