might be a dumb question but does it matter what you use for a thread puller. I have seen some use mono, size d, size a, and other stuff all tied in a loop with a bead on the end. What is best to use? or does it even matter?

I was using 10# fireline went to 6#mono and have come back to fireline. Fireline was recommended to me from one of the best custom guys and well I am not about to go back to anything else. It is slippery, thin and flexible.

I use a high E guitar string with light action folded with a bead at the end.

I thought I was the only one who used Fireline. It is limp and strong, never have to worry about it breaking in use.

I use 4# mono with a small button at 1 end. I use different colored buttons, so that I know which 1 to pull 1st.

Several years ago, I got onto using the little floss threaders you get from the dentist to get floss through a bridge. Just tie a knot in the butt end of it and go.

Thread puller is just whatever you use to pull the tag in through to secure a wrap before you trim the tag.

I use them too Goduster. They're the most convenient thing I have used. I wish the little balls were something other than round so they would not roll off the bench, but otherwise love them. Wonder what the material is in the tie-off loop itself?

Just touch 2 sides to a grinder. make a little flat and "Walla" no more roll
