Hi: Actually what I'm looking for is a motor that I could use as a dryer and a finisher. Would 10 RPMs cover bother bases? Bruce
My Pac Bay dryer is 9 rpm, other brands are 6-11, and can be used for both purposes. You'll get sharp edges on your guide wraps more easily with speeds higher than this, and maybe get more guides done before the finish starts to set. A rest for your hand and lots of practice helps with edges. If you're not going to make your living selling the rods you make, these dryers work fine.
Now quit diddling and make a rod, already!
