i've calculated and i am on pace to have five completed rods in a period of a year.....i can only imagine once i become more profeceint that this number may grow. i was just wondering, how many rods do the other hobbiest do in an average year.....i hope there are others who are far more sick than i..... whistling1.gif

Before taking on bamboo rod making as a career, the most rods I ever made in a year was twenty-two. Since going full time I'll make double that, or more, per year. This week I'll send out #7 for this year, and I've been away from the shop for a coupla weeks so far.

First step is to admit that one has a problem and is powerless to overcome that problem. smile.gif

shocking.gif shocking.gif doesn't sound like your ready for the first step....besides, i thought rod making was the power greater than ourselves that COULD restore us to sanity......

last year i built 8-9 rods.....finished one this year...wrapped two restoration rods....working on a blank swap....cold weather has kept me out of the shop for all but a week or two....and will most likely be building a couple 7ft 4 wt rods over next 2-3 months.

i will most likely build 7-8 rods, lot depends on the orders i rcv

Last year was my first year. I started 8. I finished 4 rods and 2 blanks. I have 2 on the bench for this year so far. I have been run out of my shop most of the winter with record cold and snow.

not much snow this year in idaho....but COLD is always a staple.......i've slowly moved my tools inside the house.....which is kinda nice. no more dirty looks when i try to sneak off to build. rolleyes.gif

I made 50 split cane blanks last year but only 6 were built into rods the rest were sold as blanks.
I'm a bit behind that mark this year only 7 blanks so far and one full build.
