I've been thinking about building a penta rod and am a bit perplexed by how one ferrules a penta rod. Annyone have any guidance or insight that they can provide?

Thanks.

I recently acquired a Ulsan Penta spinning rod which needs to be stripped and re finished. You inquiry got me wondering and since the threads are coming off anyway, I took a look. These are Super Z ferrules. Five slits are cut creating five tabs. These tabs are not pointed but they are filed to a flat wedge. Each flat wedge sits on a flat of the blank forming a smooth transition. A few of the flat tabs are missing bits of the corners. Seems like they were chipped in the original construction/filing. Not a real problem for this rod which was wrapped with a heavy red thread which was then C/P and varnished. If you were finishing with fine silk and/or using no C/P this would not look so good.
