I am completing a Garrison 209E rod and I want to build a wooden carrying case for the rod similar to a gun case but with inserts to support the rod. I have been looking for plans on the internet for these plans but have not found any. I plan on building it from maple. I thought there would be plans on websites such as finewoodworking.com, woodworking.com, popularwoodworking.com, etc.; howerever, no luck. Does anyone have plans for such fly rod cases? Any help would be appreciated. thumbsup.gif Patentman

There are instructions for a hex case in the first link as well as more detailed ones in Cattanach's Handcrafting Bamboo Fly Rods that you might consider as an alternative to building a gun style case. I built a version exhibited in the second link.
