I am in the process of ordering guides for a bamboo blank. I will be using bronze colored Snake Brand guides and a Snake Brand stripper. My question is what colored frame do you use with the bronze colored guides? Is there a bronzing compound on the market that I can use to color the stripper frame, or should I leave it nickle silver?

TIA,

Brad

You can use Fultz's Tru-Blue to blue nickel silver to a many shades of bronze, with a little experimentation. It's the only commercially available blue-ing agent that I've found that yields "bronze." If you get it wrong the first time, just steel wool it off, and try again.

Here's a reelseat I "bronzed" with trublue:

Without doing or buying anything yourself, you can also order a blued stripper guide from Snake that tends to be a smoky gray - doesn't look bad on a rod with their bronze guides, but they don't match the bronze snakes exactly...

I just checked out the Golden Witch web site and they carry stripping guides in a bronze frame, unfortunately there are no pictures to compare to your guides. You could probably give them a call/email and ask them how well their frames match up to the Snake's. Here's the site:
