Can anyone help me?
I want to do a wrapped winding check like the one who is done on orvis superfine.
How do i do it?

I'm not familar with the Orvis but a thread ramp can be done several ways. A lot of guys use 5min epoxy to create the small ramp. You can apply a small amount then with denatured alcohol on your finger spin the blank & smooth out & shape the ramp. Let dry & wrap over the ramp & apply CP (if you use it) and finish.

You can also use thread finish to make the ramp. Put the rod in a dryer but raise the tip up and put a small amount of finish at the transition. The raised tip will allow the liquid to build up at the transition.

Thank you. I'll give the epoxy-way a go. smile.gif

Is that sort of what you are trying to do?

I've done a couple like that with an epoxy ramp. That works well for getting the thread wrap up to the grip diameter. I used Rod Bond as it would stay put and I could build the ramp with one application. Good luck! Kip
