Hi all
I am new to rod building and was wondering what would be a good taper or style to start with? I have read Cattanach's book and am waiting on the next to arrive.

Hello Paul,
I have built a number of Cattanach's tapers and all are good. Pick a length and line weight that you will fish and proceed. You really can't go wrong.
