After serving almost 2 life sentences in the employ of General Motors, I have decided to call it quits and retire to pursue my fly fishing and rod building hobbies.
I signed my retirement papers today and by July 1st, I will be a man of leisure.
Life is good

Congratulations! You are now a househusband!
Really, though, I envy you. Having not planned my life well, I'll have to work to the end. I should have taken that civil service test...

Bob, I tried to retire about 3 years ago when I got laid off. The wife wouldn't go for it though!

Stayed home for a year and a half before I started my small business. I've got a pretty good idea what you're in for and to say I'm jeoulos is an understatement. By the way, I got the nickname of 'housebitch', hope you can avoid that!

Good luck, man.

Sounds good to me Bob.

Work can really have a deter mental affect on one's hobbies but my wife's work list is way too long for me to even consider retiring. I figure as long as I'm working full time she can't force me to do all that extra work. So far it's working.
