...laughing, when you see this bit of PETA propoganda a friend passed on to me. I laughed so hard I was in tears:

OK. Now go change your pants and get back to work.

that skull and crossbone fly got me thinking...time to go hit the vice to see if it works!
I remember a few years ago there was a few towns in MT that some PETA people dressed up in a big fish costume hooked in the mouth with a sign saying "Fishing Hurts"...silly extremists...

Hey, I'm all for killing animals....like mice, rats, bugs, and insects, deer.....you know, all those darn animals we have to kill so we can grow the vegetables for the vegetarians! How many animals were killed when the put up the power plant to provide power to the computer used to create that stupid picture?
well, that's about it. time to go wrap more dead animal parts to hooks. not to catch fish to feed my family, but just because i like doing it!

No laughing matter!!! This stuff is being passed out in schools. One of their things is to get kids to donate pennies to their cause, the kids not knowing what they are doing or really supporting. However, we must keep in mind that these people will take an antibiotic to kill poor little bacteria. They will put algacide and disinfectant in their swimming pools, disinfect their bathroom fixtures, kitchen countertops, etc. If they build a new house, they will be required to treat it for termites. Like one fellow said, he would like to visit them with a box full of cockroaches and see how they make them welcome. A while back, PETA had a billboard along I-24 in Chattanooga, TN with a picture of a dog with a hook in its mouth. It didn't last very long. If you research the subject, it was people like this that got bear hunting stopped in New Jersey. Merely on emotions and not on professional, managed wildlife studies. Mountain lion hunting was banned in California. Now mountain lions are attacking people because they have no fear of humans.
I'm a hunter education instructor in Tennessee and keep up with stuff like this and use it to point out what professional wildlife management can do rather than emotional people with no scientific basis for their agenda.

I don't find it all that humorous. Actually I find most things done to get a shock out of people are distastfull. This is targeted at kids. Just think about a 6 year old kid seeing this now. This image will be ingrained in them who know later down the road, of life that is, he is asked to vote on some law that would ban fishing or something along those lines. Memory of this picture subconsious or otherwise could influence the now adults view and cause to vote in a wrong way. That is why peta is targeting children. They consider us a lost cause that they will never be able to perswade(?). But if they can start getting to kids now, they hope to be able to influence future legistlature. It is all a mater of degrees. Every year that passes that they are allowed to do this kind of propaganda, is another step closer to their ultimate goal. They need to be stoped and they need to be stoped now.

Like my brother always says-People Eating Tasty Animals.
This is the sort of thing that TU needs to try and steer clear of. From what I can tell they usually do.
This extremist attitude just makes groups look like morons and lose any bit of credibility. I once witnessed a Ducks Unlimited representative make thier organization look like it was run by a bunch of ignorant 3 yr olds.

Ken, some folks still live by OT standards and choose to be vegetarians and/or worse vegans ...
