Has anyone here built on a Winston Passport blank or fished one?

Fished 4 and 5 wt. factory rods for a half day about a year ago, the 5 wt. is a great rod for the money, and at twice the price still a good choice.

I've fished the passport in 3-7wt and the lower line weights are ok, but the higher line weights IMHO lack strength in the butt section. How much are passport blanks selling for?

I have seen them for about 135 bucks or so recently...whole kit for about 180 give or take.

Just because it's CUSTOM doesn't mean it has to be EXPENSIVE.

You don't say what weight line you are looking for but here is a 5wt shootout 5WT Shootout

Remember as you read that this is a fly shop and they are there to sell ... but still good info to refer to
“He who is without sin let them cast the first stone and make sure it’s a biggun, cause not many are going to come”.

Build it...fish it...let us know what you think. I think a 9 foot 5 weight is on the books for me...I don't have a five weight yet.
