Varnish finally dried, it's been raining so it took longer than I expected.
It's a backpacking rod, so I didn't put too much time into cosmetics. It's a nice casting rod, and the sections are 18 1/4 inches long. Aluminum ferrules.

I make my own aluminum ferrules.

The taper is of my own design, my theory is with a short rod more of the length should be involved in the cast. The short lever arm and light weight will make it feel fast even if the stress chart looks like a slow taper. This one is actually a parabolic taper. I also forgot to add it's also a penta, five sided.

Can't hardly wait to get out hiking and fishing again.

Beautiful little rod thumbup.gif Darryl. That should be nice and light for backpacking. Nice looking ferrules too. Are they cut from solid stock or made with aluminum tubing?

Darryl,

Beautiful work. Did you say 18 1/4" each section? Holy cow! I think I got a toothbrush longer than that! LOL!
