Just back on the forum, been overseas for a year and now back home. I have built spinning rods out of 9 ft fast action 9wt fly rod blanks and they work great. One thing to remember if a rod is built into a rod that it was not intended/designed for the manufactures warranty is void. The loss of warranty never bothered me.
