Hi guys.. I am back!!
Greetings Tim and Paul Johnson if your around.
I stopped planing due to arthiritis and sold my forms etc.
However, I just had some scrap boo and got the URGE again so gonna make a Two strip quad (not much planing here). Reckon I can do this for a year or two if I use a smoothing plane. ( well Daryl did it so its good enough for me)
Cane is flamed (partly) and nodes flattened smooth and strips squared off.
Question... Tried to convert the hex to quad on hexrod but the figures seemed wrong.
Save a lot of explaning if somone told me the sequence.
Want to do a boo ferrule here somehow!! Mmmmm..
Without a form and like an add on boo ferrule.
Has anybody done this (an old mans problem)
Cant see why it cannot be done.
This addiction certainly worse than actually fishing!!
Kindest regards to everyone.

Thread tensioners for wrapper
17 December 2016 - 08:58 AM
Hi guys. I had an embroidery business before I retired and this is where you can get a thread tensioner. Or any sewing machine shop or embmbroidery machine supplier.
The washers are chamfered as you can see to enable the thread to slide into the fittings. Make it?? Well is it worth it for what it costs.
See link.
Hope the helps

New flex coat
13 December 2016 - 01:05 PM
Something New, maybe!!!
Got some flex coat last year and went on You Tube to see exactly how to mix it. Mmmmmmm, well I mixed it and mixed it and mixed it, waiting for the change of "seethruness", ha,so I mixed it and mixed it and mixed it again! By this time it had been mixed for 25 minutes. Still NO "seethruness" occurence, so thought I, must be a dud batch so into the garage cupboard went it with a certain amount of disgust.
Anyway sometime later I found out that NEW FLEX COAT you just mix for 2-3 mins and apply it.
Guess what..,, it really works and its pretty good. It was on my rod turner for 7 hours and got a hi builx on my boo rod although I took most of it off. Used a lighter to thin out the stuff and it removed the bubbles. Success.
Just squeezed a little of each into a hot tin lid. Its called "guessimation"
HOPE THIS INFO ISUSEFUL TO OTHERS.
Tried to post from Photobucket but there having Phishing issues so no go.
How else Can I post pics here guys??
Best wishes everyone

Flex coat weight
01 December 2016 - 06:50 PM
Hi everyone. Need a favour please.,
I had an intereresting thought. Dont have many of these!!
If the weight of Flex Coat part a and part b per unit could be established then it would be possible to weigh out an application extremely accurate on some small digital scales!!!
Hence no need for syringes ever!
I have the FC but no syringes and dont fancy paying £5-6 per syringe.
Please would any body weigh out say 3ml of each and weigh them both and let everyone know the weight?
Thanks very very much
