Seems I'm an average guy. I voted medium...and why?
Dark flaming is too... well, too dark. Could also easily damage the powerfibers.
Blonde requires very good cane and it is bit dull.
Mottled is good looking when you first see it, but after a while you may change your mind. Not allways, of course. Number two.
Medium flaming is peaceful and classic.
My 2 (euro) cents.

Hi Guys,
I voted "Medium Flamed", perhaps in part due to the finish of the rod but the colour is stunning! Golden, warm, rich and welcoming. Just want to reach out a touch it.
Now that I have pinched myself can I ask if the "Mottled" look was achieve by flaming the rod post gluing or what it applied on the original culm?

Thanks Mike! I made a pair of near-twin Dickerson 7613s this spring for a couple of friends, both with clear wraps and one with green tipping and one with red. The original post can be found here.
Here is the biggest fish caught on their inaugural voyage, a 28"er:
Made me more confident in the strength of dark-flamed rods.

I flamed the culm before I split it. That is why the stripes don't quite match up after staggering and glue up.

There's been a lot of talk lately of the damage done to boo when flamed.
Here's a bamboo nail (flamed) as Rod Sterling would say, submitted for your approval! Bamboo strip pounded clear through a 2" X 4" redwood stud.
