I just received my new 14' spey blank and other components.  The question I have is the rear butt section doesn't have a removable end cap to slide the rear butt section down from the top of the rod to seat.  Should a cut the end of the butt section off and epoxy back or just fit the grip from the bottom up?  This is my first attempt at building a rod.  Thanks for the help.

You just slide it on from the butt end, no need to do any cutting
