Components are the usual suspects:

Payne Hollow Built....Brent Nickerson – Maker
Custom Built by Dick Seymour
Thread.. Pearsall's Gossamer Straw with 2 turn Red trim and Red for the Ferrule Wraps
Ferrules and 660 Down locking Threaded Barrel Real Seat from Bellinger c/w Curly Maple Insert I turned myself
Agate Stripping guide by Joe Arguello(Size 8)
Snake Brand Guides and TipTop(3 x #2, 3 x #1, 2 x# 1/0)
Dipped in Minwax Spar Urethane thinned 25-30% with Mineral Spirits.
Didn't  take long to do.... I started wrapping June 12th and was finished dipping June 22nd.

This is the identical twin to the last Bamboo rod I built.  Identical in every way except this new one is Hollow Built and I used Chrome and Nickel Silver components as compared to Dark Nickel on the first one, I used Pearsall's Gossamer thread in Straw color with 2 turn(Clove Hitch) Red trim on this one. Here is a link to that first rod:

Hope you enjoy looking as much as I enjoyed building this rod.

Hello Dick, I always enjoy seeing the rods you build - finely crafted. This rod, along with its twin which isn't hollow built, should allow you to compare the rods for performance. There are discussions out there about the virtues of hollow building. So now you have a chance to cast them side by side and weigh in.

Your report would be appreciated.

Nice work. Good looking rod there. Top notch components also.

Hey there Dick, hopefully you've had a chance to give these two rods a good workout. Any chance you could write a brief performance comparison of the two rods? Most don't get the opportunity to perform such a comparison and you'd be doing all of us a big favor.

Best Regards,

Good looking builds.  If you don't have time to compare the two rod actions,  I'll volunteer to take on the unrewarding task. :P
