I've cut an EVA foam grip on my crude lathe using a section

of monofilament line and it went rather well, but what does

one use for cutting cork so it's nice & clean and comes out

90º and all? I have one and only one chance to get it right.

Using the lathe, try a guitar string or even piano wire.   Good luck
