I just got this finished in time to go on vacation.

It's a 8.5ft 2pc/2tip.

The wraps are Pearsall gossamer classic chestnut with java brown tipping.
Pete at Rod-O-Rama turned the cork grip for me. Thanks Pete! thumbsup.gif
Snake brand guides with an agate stripping guide.
The reel seat is from Bellinger and I turned the reel seat from a piece of maple that I dyed, finished, and polished.
The rod is varnished with Man-O-War spar varnish and turpentine.

Beautiful rod, I like the dyed maple insert. Which taper did you use? Kushner?!..

Thanks guys.

The reel seat is the first wood reel seat that I turned on a lathe I got for xmas.
I'm happy with the dye color matching the wraps.
It was my first time trying CA as a finish. With the tips from this board is was fast and easy.

The taper is from Michigan rod maker Morris Kushner.
The Formula B was a rod given to Judge John Voelker (Robert Traver) by Kushner.
It's pretty powerful. I've only had a chance to lawn cast it.
It should throw a 5 or 6 weight line. It was pretty windy that day, so it felt better with a 6wt line.
I was using a Wulff6wt triangle taper. I was able to punch out some 80ft casts with it.

I'm going on a week and a half vacation in just over a week. I'll give it a good work out then.
But so far, I am really liking it.

Thanks Pete, it's perfect. headbang.gif

I'm glad I sent the reel seat hardware off to you.
I did change the insert, but I think it's a better match to agate and silk wraps.
