Hi guys,  well I am really clever, so so clever that I achieved something I have never done before.

See pic !!

Moral....  "Polish in haste"   "Repent at your leasure".

A really near perfect Driggs tip one the the best I have done yet.  Put 12 coats of Tung oil on it and got a real shine and decided to polish it with a small rag instead of a paper tissue as I normally do.  Well when I was polishing it fast up and down, the rag caught the TIP and snapped before a nano second could elapse!!

Had I used the tissue it would have ripped before the disaster occured.

That sinking feeling plus wanting to SELF DESTRUCT was almost overwhelming.

Made a new tip now but its not as fab as the former on but it will be ok.

Why on earth did I think that a better shine was superior to a little shine..,

On a fly rod..  by the river....... bright sunny day........ spooking the trout!!

Why put a shine on a rod at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Remedy a bottle of whiskey and a big glass.  well thats the best I could do.

Anybody else got a better remedy????

Please please, nobody else do this.

regards to all you crafsmen.

Hope all can see the pic

Marriage is like a deck of cards- in the beginning, all you need is two hearts and a diamond.  In the end, you wish you had a club and a spade.
