I retired 5 years ago and moved to Lundbreck Alberta where I run a small fly shop in the summer time. I carry plastic rods and an assortment of reels and lines, etc. I also inventory some 25,000 flies supplying the local guides and small shops.
I make about 6 or 7 bamboo rods each year and sell by word of mouth and through my shop. Southern Alberta has 5 major streams and numerous feeder streams teeming with cut throat and rainbows. Bull trout up to 30 inches can be found in the Oldman River system.
One of my favorite streams is the upper Oldman River where it is possible to catch and release 100 or more native cuts in a day. This is where my little 6 ft 9 in 3/2 3 wt rod excells. There are also a number of local lakes managed as put and take fisheries.
Drop by my shop if in the area sometime - Alberta Rose Anglers.
