I have some recoil guides on an Orvis Helios and I like them just fine, my question is would they be something I should consider for a glass rod? I want to use some very nice components. This rod is a 6 wt 83 Moonlit Nirvana.

I see no reason why you could or should not use them.  Some time ago I bought them to try, but they didn't work out for me.  The feet were higher at their ends than at the loop.  I wrap from the end of the foot towards the loop and the memory aspect of the wire meant I couldn't bend the feet down.  I later found that flash heating the top of the loop with a propane torch made that bending possible.  It was too touchy a process to pursue further.

If you like them, they will work fine.  People put single foot guides on bamboo and the world doesn't come to an end.

If it's your first build, read the old posts about working with REC guides.  As I recall, the flexibility and hardness makes prep work a bit harder.  I haven't used them myself.
