I did notice the lock but my father always said locks are for honest people. Keep it waxed to make it easy to remove the bug guts.

Actually, an alligator or crocodile can move faster in short distances than a thoroughbred race horse.  From: Death in the Silent Places or Maneaters- Peter Hathaway Capstick.  He brings out a lot of misconception of wildlife.  Read those two books- great reading.  As he states, in Africa, you are protein, like every other living thing.

Hi, everyone!  For great information on woodturning, go to  www.woodturner.org and jump in.  You don't have to be a member to look at things on the forum.  Keep in mind that the lathe is the cheapest part.  You will have chucks, tools, some way to sharpen tools.  Again, here is a good place to start or go the the link.  Woodturning is like rod building- a vortex from which there is no escape.
