#234676 Inlet cork hood fit

Posted by bish0p on 01 July 2018 - 02:35 PM in Grips and Reel Seats

The .810" could work.  Does the front hood have a lip on it?

From the pictures, I think the Lemke LC1 hood is a circle with no lip.

Goduster mentioned custom blades could be made for any hood size. I'm not sure how to do this. I don't have the tools or experience.

#234671 Inlet cork hood fit

I've thought about purchasing a Crafty cutter to install reel seats of different manufacturers. Eventually I'd like to use a Lemke LC1 reel seat in several builds. The LC1 seat is listed as needing a 25/32" (.781) recess. The Crafty cutter has blades to cut diameters .760, .810, .865, .900, .950 inches.

After using the .760 blades, would I need to remove more cork material, or can I try for a press fit? I know cork can split.

#234377 Rod Geeks or Rainshadow

My first build was on a green Rainshadow RX7 fly blank. I love this rod and still fish with it.

RodGeeks' C4 and C2 carbon fiber are the same as St Croix's SCIV and SCII. I've read nothing but good reviews about RodGeeks.

#234356 Bingham Ent contact

I emailed Bingham enterprises at [email protected] concerning an SHX blank. I got this email address from their website.

Are they still in business, is this the correct email?

I've used for Imgur years. It's superior to Photobucket.
