- bamboo: Madake

- taper: Garrison 209E 7'9''#5 recalculated to #7

- semihollow butt section

- heat treating: 30min / 180°C

- glue: UHU Endfest 300

- 2nd heat treating after glueing: 30min / 50°C

- ferrules: homemade, brass, oversized

- the rod is "varnished" with the PU glue

- snake guides are made from dentist wire

- grip and reelseat are made from the champagne cork stoppers..

- weight of the finished rod is 125grams

Extremely impressive!  Beautiful rod and I love the way you made your own guides from dental wire and grip and seat from repurposed cork.  Thanks for posting. 

 

By the way, I'd love to see how you make your guides.  Did you buy a tool or create your own method?

Thank You wjensen. :) About seven years ago I wrote an article for my friend's website. It's composed of eight chapters, in the last there is a part on snake guides making. It is written in slovenian language, you may use google translator (slovenian-> english). If you wish to read entire article just change the number in the url from 1 to 8..

Today I took the rod to the river for the first time.. I was more than satisfied, the rod casts very well with  DT5 line. Here is the first fish(I hope there will be many more in the future.. :)) taken with the rod.. r :)
