Dear bamboo enthusiasts - here is a brandnew classic from the past, a PHY Perfectionist in 7'6" length for a 5-weight line. Intermediate windings, green Agate and a silk covered duronce ferrule and very nice semiparabolic performance. Jürgen

Hello Jürgen,
I'm curious about your ferrule plug. For my recent bamboo build (also my first) I turned a ferrule plug out of oak, which means the cap and the plug are both oak. I was proud of the plug but removed it, concerned that while the rod is stored it could absorb moisture and swell while inside the female ferrule. Is yours made of wood?

Thanks,
Jeff

Hi Jeff, the plug is Olive-Wood with cyanacrylat (superglue) surface. Jürgen

Hi Radivoj,
thanks for the nice comment. We had the ferrules made in the mid 80ies -- I don't even know by whom. The reel seat space is stabilized Buckeye Burl (Pen Blank) stained greenish. I found this very beautiful. Jürgen

Yes, Winding check and reel seat spacer are turned from the same pen blank (stained buckeye burl)

Hi Jurgen,
This rod is superb.
The reel seat looks fantastic. I'm interested in your rod tube, how it is made and how do you lock it?

Regards,
Adam.

Very nice. I like the intermediates. What are the thread colors for the wraps and intermediates?

Anthony
