Hi guys. I had an embroidery business before I retired and this is where you can get a thread tensioner. Or any sewing machine shop or embmbroidery machine supplier.
The washers are chamfered as you can see to enable the thread to slide into the fittings. Make it?? Well is it worth it for what it costs.

Those are what I use.  I'd order more than one.  You can also get them from Mudhole.
